چکیده

Background: This study investigated the effects of 12-week resistance training on body composition, blood pressure, lipid levels, muscle cross-sectional area (CSA), isokinetic function, and hemorheological properties in middle-aged obese women. Methods: Twenty-eight women with a mean age 50.79 ± 5.80 years were randomly assigned to control (CON, n = 13) or experimental (EXP, 15) group. The EXP group underwent program composed warm-up, main exercise (deadlift, barbell squat, seated leg extension, lying curl, bench press, preacher biceps rowing, dumbbell shoulder press), cool-down. consisted three sets 8–10 repetitions (reps) performed 70–80% 1-rep maximum, reps increased every 3 weeks. frequency was 80 min, days per week for 12 CON maintained their daily lifestyle without training. All participants measurements composition (weight, mass index, lean mass, fat % fat), pressure (systolic diastolic arterial pulse pressure), levels (triglycerides, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein low-density cholesterol), CSA muscles (quadriceps, hamstring, thigh muscle), function (peak torque [PT], relative PT, power, work [TW]), (erythrocyte deformability aggregation) before after weeks Results: showed significant improved including PT (p < 0.001), 0.001) extension 60°/s, TW 180°/s, 0.018) flexion 180°/s. Regarding properties, improvement erythrocyte aggregation 0.001). Conclusions: present verified that our resulted greater decreased properties. Clinical Trial Registration: registered cris.nih.go.kr (No. KCT0007412).
